Susie and Shaun’s vintage chic wedding at Arrowhead was an absolutely amazing one-of-a-kind affair. Their ceremony was held at St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville and was followed by a reception at Arrowhead Golf Club. Susie based a lot of her decor ideas on the beautiful photo shoot we did at Arrowhead a couple years ago for the Inspired Creations Contest. It featured cake stands, milk glass vases and vintage vases and lush pink and cream flowers and foliage. Another key feature about both the photo shoot and Susie’s wedding was that while everything coordinated well nothing was matchy-matchy making for an even more custom and unique ambiance.
Susie’s bouquet was fabulous and featured peonies, garden roses, veronica, spray roses, ranunculus, roses, lisianthus and silver sage accents. The bridesmaids bouquets all varied slightly in overall shape but featured roses, spray roses, veronica, ranunculus, silver sage, and peonies. The bouts and corsages were made with ranunculus and spray roses with silver sage and veronica accents. Another fun touch was the “Just Married” umbrella I made that the couple used for some fun photos.
For the ceremony, 2 manzanita trees with floral bases were adorned with floral bundles and displayed on the altar and 10 mixed floral bundles and an aisle runner decorated the aisle.
The altarpieces and bundles were later moved to the reception. The altarpieces were used on the escort card and gift tables and the bundles were used on the highboy and guest book tables. Susie and her mom provided the majority of the vases we used for the event–basically a ton of milk glass pieces, cake stands and mason jars and I supplemented with silver mercury glass vases and votives. Everything they gave me I filled with flowers. One of everyone’s favorite details was the “LOVE” mugs with floral in them which we placed on the head table. Another favorite feature with the escort card table which had 2 suitcases filled with baby’s breath, 2 vintage shutters, 4 vintage-style mixed arrangements, accordion fan accents, mercury glass votive candles, an altarpiece and of course, the escort cards! It is my most favorite display we’ve ever done for an escort card table!
As I mentioned there was no shortage of lovely details at this wedding. The cake was no exception. It featured a cute birdie topper and flowers on the bottom and middle tiers. The gift table also was decorated beautifully with a birdcage with floral accent and an altarpiece decorated with accordion fans. Even the doors of the venue had large “D” monograms on them which I made. I cannot wait to see how the professional photos turned out–I love working with Maypole Studios! It was great seeing them again (I just worked with them a couple weeks ago!) and I know everything will be captured brilliantly.
I wish Susie and Shaun a lifetime of happiness and a big CONGRATS!
