I just added a Gift Card Holder Gallery to my Flickr site filled with gift card holding options that have been featured at the weddings I’ve done. Most of them I did for the couples, some of them the couples provided for themselves. There are a lot of fun options out there and I am always looking for other fun things to do for this aspect of the wedding. In the past few years I have seen bird cages, stacks-o-presents, hat boxes with the slits in the lid, actual outdoor mailboxes, the metal cage gift box, white cloth-covered treasure chests, photo frame cubes, an antique trunk, and even a drum with the slot cut in the top.
To offer something different & more unique to the mix, I have come up with 2 styles that I term my “signature” gift card holders. One is a rectangular vase with custom monogram and ribbon accents and the other is a huge cylinder vase with a floral rim. Both can be seen below. I usually add a faux envelope to ensure your guests know what these vases are there for too.
I also just added a set of birdcages to my collection that are available to rent. For those, there are many fun things that can be done including adding ribbon, a water tube with flowers to the top, wrapping paper in the base, adding a monogram or “cards” sign, putting a little birdie in one of them, and the list goes on…below is a sample from Save-on-Crafts website and underneath that is the ones I just did for a recent wedding. We used the duo together, lined them with decorative papers and added signs: “Cards” and “Advices and Wishes for the Newlyweds”.
Many of my clients have been interested in the stack-o-presents style gift card holders that are out there. My friends at Big Day Boutique make custom ones that look quite lovely. Here is one of their gift card holders pictured below.
My former client Emilie of Emma Leigh Designs on ETSY also makes these cute boxes. Here is a sample of hers below.
