Description

I know I say I never do invitations, but for my friends Kim and Jason, I had to make an exception. For the past few months, I have been helping them plan their mid-July wedding. I am finally putting my wedding consulting certificate to use by helping plan the entire event, from venue to vendors to decor and then some!

Kim and Jason chose a fun summer color palette of yellow, orange and aqua and I have the fun task of incorporating these colors into the event. I just finished their invitations, and they turned out really nice…they are bright, fun, and semi-casual, which is the vibe we want for their wedding.

For the flowers to come in July–Kim is not scared of color, so we are throwing the yellow, orange and white into her bouquet and all of the centerpieces with accents of the aqua/teal color here and there. I plan to use zinnias, marigolds, Calendula, protea, hydrangea, tulips, ranunculus and a whole bunch of other goodies! It will be amazing!

As far as the details for the wedding, I can share some–but can’t wait until the actual day when all of the planning and details come to life. The venue will be Arrowhead’s Sun Room–which is a small room on the first floor typically set up as a living room. Jason and Kim will tie the knot on the covered patio area just off of the Sun Room–which is awesome because we’ll be outdoors but covered in the event of some summer rain showers! We will have 3 guest tables dressed in white linens provided by the venue and color pop aqua linens and chair covers that I am bringing in via my friends at The Chair Couture. We will also have the mantel in the room decorated as well as the cake and any other little areas that I decide need flowers. I love that Kim and Jason trust me (I guess its mutual since he is my accountant!) and they are happy with all of the suggestions I have made so far. One of our favorite decisions was booking Caitlin Hazelton of Hazelton Photography to shoot the event. We are very excited to be working with her!
