Save the Date: New Floral Design Tutorials

Back by popular demand, I will be offering floral design tutorials again at the Naperville Art League this Fall/Winter. Rather than offer a 6-week course like I did this past spring, I will be offering two, one-time, three hour long, make-it/take-it courses right before the holidays. Here are the details so far:

“Floral Design Tutorial: Textural Thanksgiving Centerpiece”

Date: Sunday, November 21, 2010
Time: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Class Type: Adult
Class Size: 6 min/12 max
Experience Level: Basic-moderate with interest in floral design
Fee: $99

This fee covers all flowers, container/s and use of additional supplies*
(*We will provide community scissors, wire, floral tape, ribbon, wire cutters, floral knives, etc. for use during class only (you do not get to keep them))

Supply List:
Bunch Cutters
(You may want to bring any of the non-floral supplies listed above if you do not wish to share)

Course Description:
Learn how to design a contemporary, textural centerpiece using an assortment of flowers and materials for your Thanksgiving holiday table. You will also learn how to
make small accent arrangements for filling up larger tables and “flower bundles” that can be placed at each placesetting. Flowers will include a plethora of fall-toned blooms including mokara orchids, mums, spray roses, foliage, and other accents.

“Floral Design Tutorial: Simple & Chic Holiday Centerpiece”

Date: Sunday, December 19, 2010
Time: 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Class Type: Adult
Class Size: 6 min/12 max
Experience Level: Basic-moderate with interest in floral design
Fee: $99

This fee covers all flowers, container/s and use of additional supplies*
(*We will provide community scissors, wire, glass holiday ornaments, floral tape, ribbon, wire cutters, floral knives, etc. for use during class only (you do not get to keep them))

(You may want to bring any of the non-floral supplies listed above if you do not wish to share)

Course Description:
Learn how to design a chic, contemporary centerpiece using an assortment of flowers and materials for your Holiday table. This square-vased arrangement will be filled with ornaments on the inside and flowers coming out the top. You will also learn how to make “mini present” accent arrangement for filling up larger tables or making as a gift for friends and family. We will also learn how to make festive “flower bundles” that can be placed at each placesetting. Flowers will include a plethora of white, red, and green blooms including spray roses, tulips, button poms, Christmas greens and other foliage, glass holiday ornaments and other accents.

I will be posting the class listings through the Naperville Art League website once they are posted to their site. Registration for the classes will begin September 1st. More details to come including teaser photos of what the centerpieces will look like!
