Prairie-Style Meets Asian-Inspired Design at Branmor’s

I loved working with Sandra to plan her daughter Brittany’s bridal shower flowers. I am doing Brittany’s wedding flowers next month so her only requests were that we included purple and that we didn’t use flowers or styles that would be later featured at her wedding. She wanted her guests to be wowed at her shower and wowed again at her wedding. No repeat looks!

Sandra found these cute green asymmetric-opening orbs to work as the base of the arrangements–so then it was up to me to make something that would WOW at the wedding shower. I came up with an Asian-inspired design that combined Galax leaves, lily grass, horsetail and blue Vanda orchids. I bent 2 of the pieces of horsetail into a geometric shape reminiscent of Prairie-Style Windows. They really added height and drama to the design. It doesn’t get much more dramatic than the dashing size and color of the Blue Vanda orchids though! They are one of my favorite flowers (and of course they were in both of my wedding bouquets!) Basically, the centerpieces for Brittany’s shower turned out even better than I imagined. They were sculptural and fun and really fit well with the Prairie-style decor at Branmor’s where the shower was held.

I hope it was an awesome shower and I cannot wait to do Brittany’s wedding at Oak Brook Bath next month!
