In addition to naming Honeysuckle PINK
the top color of 2011, Pantone has also picked some other trend-worthy colors for the 2011 palette. But what flowers go with these fun colors? Let me help you out with that...
The top color of 2011 yields many blooms in a similar hue including: dahlias, ranunculus, roses, spray roses, tulips, zinnias, peonies, garden roses, gladioli, snapdragons, carnations & others...
This color is almost exactly the color of natural manzanita branches. Dried Lotus pods are also this shade.
Mango callas, zinnias, marigolds, roses, spray roses, mokara orchids, gladioli, ranunculus, tulips, cymbidium orchids and other blooms come in this pretty orange tone.
Blue is a little limiting for flowers, but bright blue hydrangea and delphinium come in a color similar to this shade of blue.
Kale and Succulents would be great representations of this green color.
Aqua is tricky...no flowers come in this color naturally, so I would bring it in with vintage aqua blue jars and bottles or with dyed water or beach glass.
I love this color and so many blooms come in it! Ranunculus, spray roses, marigolds, zinnias, roses, mokara orchids, tulips, gerbera daisies, freesia, callas, dahlias...so many things!!!
Lavender...yes--so many brides are in love with eggplant--but lavender is actually more trendy for 2011!!! The actual flower/herb lavender comes in this color of course, as well as stock, statice, hyacinth, lisianthus, gladioli, larkspur, freesia, carnations, roses, sweet pea, scabiosa...lots of fun goodies!
This pale pinkish peach hue is awesome--and peonies, spray roses, sweet pea, roses, stock, carnations, lisianthus, tulips, larkspur, snapdragons, dahlias, carnations, callas, orchids, and gerbera daisies all come in this shade.
I am a huge fan of gray, and luckily there are some blooms that fit in the gray family. Dusty Miller, Silver Brunia, Silver sage naturally are gray in tone and there are also "enhanced blooms" like silver thistle, silver-sprayed branches, etc. that would fit into this color scheme as well.
I hope you were enlightened by these 10 fabulous colors for 2011!!! I hope to see more of them in our 2011 weddings!
