Modern Style at City Gate Grill
Candice and Michael tied the knot in a tent just outside City Gate Grill where their reception was held (a new venue operated by Hotel Arista in Naperville). Their colors were charcoal gray, burgundy, and fuchsia with silver accents and flowers consisted of mainly orchids and callas. The overall feel was very modern and chic, with beautiful linens and red votives offsetting the gorgeous vases of orchids and callas. The bridal bouquet was a beautiful mix of white and burgundy callas with bling inside, fuchsia vanda orchids, burgundy mini cymbidiums and regular cymbidiums, white mini cymbidiums and regular cymbidiums, and fuchsia mokara orchids with pearls mixed within the flowers. The bridesmaids carried bouquets made of similar flowers and also silver sage foliage accents. The groom wore a white cymbidium orchid boutonniere with silvery foliage accent, and the fathers and grandfathers wore a white calla with silver foliage. The mothers and grandmothers wore orchid and calla pin on corsages with silver organza bows and the flower girl carried a basket filled with orchid heads. For the ceremony, I did two altarpieces with pilsner vase bases filled with a submersible LED light, silver wire and cymbidium orchids. The top had a mix of orchids, hydrangea, foliage and callas and hanging bling. They sat on my museum pedestals and framed in the couple while they exchanged vows. The altarpieces were awesome! We later moved them into the reception space on the gift and entry tables. For the reception, we did two styles of centerpiece including a trio of cylinders filled with submerged orchids, curly willow and floating candles and the other style was a bubble bowl filled with callas, a floating candle and curly willow. Both styles were clean and modern looking and worked perfectly with the linens and votives. The head table, cake table and guest tables were also accented with orchid heads and shimmering bling and the cake was decorated with cymbidium orchids. The couple also used our signature rectangle monogram card holder for the gift table. I also was happy to work with some of my favorite vendors, including Cynthia Rensink of Everlasting Elegant Wedding and her team as well as Matt Windsor from A Posh Production. We love working with great vendors! I wish Candice and Michael congratulations on their new marriage!
