I just got a request from my friend Cynthia Rensink of Everlasting Elegant Wedding to make “Mob-themed” table numbers for one of her clients. I guess the venue is very befitting these mobster table numbers and the fiance is a big fan of mob movies–so it is a bit of a surprise for him. Their colors are shades of purple, so I double mounted these prints on 2 shades of purple cardstock. An easel-back was then attached to all of them for easy display at the reception.
I was thinking about other MOB movies if people were to want these for more than 12 tables. Currently, I created 12 table numbers based on these movies/shows:
The Godfather Part II
The Godfather Part III
A Bronx Tale
Mickey Blue Eyes
I came up with these others below before finding a list of the 27 top Mafia, Gangster, & Mob Movies online along with a list of the Best Mafia Movies of all time. Of course, some of the ones on the list are not the Italian Mafia, they are Irish, Colombian, Russian, or just general criminal type movies. I do not understand how Shawshank is on one of the lists though. That is probably one of my favorite movies ever–but I would not classify it as a Mafia, Gangster or Mob Movie!! Weird. Anyways, these two I would definitely include as Mob-themed table numbers:
Road to Perdition
I hope that the groom is totally surprised by these fun table numbers. But, I guess he has to be, as they can’t be refused.
While doing these I thought of another cool idea–Movies that were filmed in Chicago/Burbs. Like Fugative, The Untouchables, Blues Brothers, Adventures in Babysitting, Batman Begins, Backdraft, Batman The Dark Knight, Home Alone, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, heck even The Break Up could work…but that isn’t very “marriage-friendly”…lol. But there are hundreds from over the years, many of which I have never heard of…here are some lists for all of the Chicago-area filmed movies.
