My old college classmate and former work colleague, Emilie, is pregnant we her first child…a little girl to be named Lilly. So of course we had to use lilies in her baby shower centerpieces. Emilie and her mom met with me to come up with some fabulous decor for her shower at The Morton Arboretum, which is actually where she got married a couple years ago!
The shower was to be held in a space on the other side of the park called The Founders Room. This room had rich wood walls, high ceilings, beautiful windows and even a fire crackling in the fireplace! Pink runners and napkins were added to the tables along with my beautiful trio of mixed pink and green centerpieces. Each table had a collection of clear, vintage-inspired mason jars and vases filled with Asiatic lilies, Nerine lilies, spray roses, hydrangea, hanging amaranthus, Italian pittosporum, and perhaps my favorite foliage, Maidenhair fern. They were awesome!
We also had birdcages for Wishes and Advice for the Mommy-to-be and a sign for the baby gifts. And perhaps one of the funnest touches was the candy buffet–which was filled with all kinds of pink candies! Each guest got to fill their favor box with whatever they wanted from the assortment.
The final touch was the little wrist corsage with pink spray roses, petals and little buttons on a pearl bracelet which I made for mommy-to-be Emilie. It was super cute!
I really loved working with my friend Em and her mom to plan her shower and I know she had a great time and loved it!
I wish Emilie and Jeff and new-baby-to-be Lilly all the best in the world!
