Learn Floral Design–sign up NOW!

Registration has begun for my two NAL (Naperville Art League) Floral Design courses. Class sizes are limited so sign up ASAP to make sure you save a seat (of course, usually you stand when you do floral design…!) These 6-week classes begin in early 2010 and are held on Monday nights at the Naperville Art League in downtown Naperville right near the train station (so city brides can totally take the train in!). “DIY Wedding Flowers” starts January 11th and goes through February 15th and “Intro to Floral Design” starts February 22nd and goes through March 29th.  Another fun bonus is that the course fees cover everything from the supplies to the actual flowers! You actually get to take home fresh flowers after each class meets! How fun is that?!

Here are the “official” course descriptions:

Are you an eager D-I-Y goddess or budget-conscious bride-to-be? Even if you’ve just always wanted to learn floral design for weddings, this is the perfect class for you! We will cover everything from corsages and boutonnieres to bouquets and centerpieces in this 6 week course. You will learn everything about wedding floral design including how to process and care for flowers, construction techniques and design rules. There will also be a field trip to a wholesale florist to see where the professionals shop and learn more about flowers in general. Starter supplies will be provided the first day of class and additional supplies can be purchased as needed. Supplies include specialty clippers, florist’s pocket knife, floral wire, floral tape, ribbon, corsage pins, floral foam, containers, and more. Please note that you get to keep everything you make during class and flowers and containers will be provided (thus this class will cost a bit more than most offered-but its SO worth it!). You may want to bring an apron so you don’t get messy and don’t get a manicure before coming to class either! Check out my floral portfolio gallery at www.kiokreations.com to see some of the fabulous things you will learn how to design!

I was wondering if you have any classes that start in April. I’m love weddings and want to learn how to do floral designs for weddings.
