Julie and Deyan were married on my first anniversary last year (so how could I forget them!) Their colors were red, silver and black and flowers including mainly roses with germinis and hydrangea and some BLING! Their reception was at Venuti’s in Addison, and I still remember they picked silver-gray linens that really made the centerpieces pop. Loved the overall look! I also remember how surprised/confused I was to learn Julie had an identical twin, Jill, who answered the door when I dropped of the bouquets. I remember her looking at me like I was a stranger (since I was to her!) and I felt all rejected–for a few seconds before seeing Julie! Since the wedding I have remained friends with Julie and became friends with Jill, who has a great nail business! These twins are glam girls! I am so happy to have met them, and it was a total pleasure doing Julie and Deyan’s wedding a little over a year ago.

How Long has it been since your wedding?
Little over a year
What is your best advice for brides-to-be?
Pick the items most important to you and spend your time focusing on those. There is no way you can devote the bulk of your planning time to all aspects of the wedding. It’s ok to ask for help. Use it. Not only will it help you, but it will also allow your family and friends to play a role in the planning and become involved in your experience.
What is your best memory from your wedding?
The first dance! It’s a great time to be able to just spend a moment with your new husband/wife during the crazy day and take in your surroundings together.
How IS married life? Any Advice for surviving the first year?
Married life is great! However, no matter how much you plan, there will always be obstacles to overcome. Keep your communication open.
Do you have any NEWS you want to share (pets, jobs, moves, babies, homes)?
We bought a new home in Lombard right after the wedding! Now, a year later, we are still putting the finishing touches on it! It was quite the project as we completely renovated the entire house. A lot of hard work but so exciting at the same time!
