I love that most of my January 2014 weddings’ photographers have all already shared images with us! It is the best thing ever getting back beautiful photos of our hard work! A big thank you to Colin Lyons for sharing images from Dana and Jacob’s Langham Hotel wedding with us. Now scroll down and take in all of the beauty!!!
Dana and Jacob’s wedding was just awesome. It was at a stunning new location, The Langham Hotel, (I think they had the 7th or 8th wedding EVER at this venue) and the colors were totally atypical for January which made things a lot of fun for us! I had to throw some cute flower girl shots in the mix with all of these decor and personal flower photos as she is expertly modeling her floral wand in them. This little cutie is the daughter of one of my past couples who are actually the brother (Brian) and sister-in-law (Monica) of the Dana (the bride). I am so glad that Monica and Brian recommended us to Dana and Jacob as we loved doing their wedding back in 2009 and it was nice to work with their family again this time around!
For the ceremony, we used our brown architectural post simple chuppah for their wedding which matched the chairs at the Langham perfectly. The aisle was decorated with cylinders filled with petals and floating candles which we repurposed on the head table after the room flip.
The bridesmaids dresses were half peacock blue and half sapphire blue–which is a combo I had never seen before–but the bright mostly magenta bouquets worked perfectly across both palettes. Dana’s bouquet was one of my most favorites–filled with texture and stunning flowers–it was like nothing I’ve designed before!!! Peonies, anemones, callas, craspedia, ranunculus, veronica, delphinium, brunia and spray roses–her magenta and white bouquet with blue, gray and yellow accents was just fabulous!
Speaking of fabulous–The Langham Hotel–is just that. So chic. So unique. I loved it. Everything was top of the line and we really enjoyed working with the staff. I cannot always say that about Chicago hotel venues–so it is a high compliment! Of course Anthony Navarro of Liven it Up Events was there overseeing everything for the couple so that certainly helped move things along. In addition to my talented vendor friends Anthony and Colin being a part of this one, Elysia Root Cakes also brought their cake magic to the event as well (which I topped with some lovely flowers) and our friend and former groom/client Mike Hendzel of Hendzel Productions did the videography. It was a bit if a dream team if I do say so myself.
The reception space was completely transformed after the ceremony (which previously had taken up 2/3 of the space) and the views from the room really make you feel like you are in the heart of the city. I really enjoyed doing this wedding and I had a great team with me that day to make all of the magic happen–and I am so pleased with the results! This wedding was chic and romantic without being ostentatious or over-the-top. It was exactly what the couple wanted–and that is what we always strive for!
Thanks again to Colin Lyons for these beautiful images. You really captured our work beautifully (as always!)
