Julie and Deyan were married today at St. John the Baptist Serbian Orthodox Church in Bellwood and had their reception at Venuti’s Banquets in Addison. Their colors were red, silver black and white. Flowers focused mainly on roses and mokara orchids with accents of germinis, hydrangea, and eucalyptus foliage.
For the personal flowers, I created a huge Black Magic rose bouquet with bling for Julie. The handle was wrapped in silver satin and had a bling buckle and pewter pearl accents. Bling also was placed in the bouquet and as accents in some of the roses. It was a stunning bouquet! The bridesmaids carried bouquets of white hydrangea, 2 shades of red roses and red germinis. Their handles were wrapped in white satin and had a criss-cross red organza overlay. The bouts and corsages were all made with white roses and eucalyptus, except for Deyan’s which was a red rose to match Julie’s bouquet.
For the ceremony, I designed a monogram aisle runner and 2 altarpieces. The altarpieces contained silver branches and wire, red roses, white hydrangea, red Jamestory spider mokara orchids, eucalyptus, burgundy snapdragons, white stock, and red mokara orchids. They rocked and I really loved the look of the silver branches. Definitely different than what I usually do. As for the monogrammed runner, I sent Julie the monogram a couple months before her wedding and she put them on her signs, menus, etc. It was a very cohesive look!
For the reception, I designed 35 centerpieces; 17 trios of submerged mokara orchid and lily grass cylinders and 18 short, round, full red rose mixed vases. The centerpieces worked perfectly with the silver striped table overlays and red runners.
I LOVED the linens! They looked great. I also liked that Venuti’s chairs and nice and neutral so Julie and Deyan did not have to get chair covers. That is always nice. Venuti’s is actually one of the nicest, freshest, cleanest banquet venues I have ever worked at. I really liked it.
In addition to the submerged centerpieces, we also did some of them for in the foyer-cocktail area and moved one of the altarpieces to the escort card table and the other to the gift table. We put rose petals all around the foyer-cocktail area, bars, escort card table, cake table, highboys and head tables.
The cake was decorated with roses and rose petals and a crystal monogram topper. It looked really great and I actually like how the monogram looked on the side of the cake vs. the top.
I really enjoyed working with Julie and Deyan planning their wedding decor. Their look really pulled together the day of. The linens were choice, the flowers complimented everything well…it was just really classy!
I am so happy for Julie and Deyan and wish my “anniversary-date-sharing-couple” the best in life and love! I was happy to do their wedding on our anniversary and will never forget them!
Congrats Mr. and Mrs. Popovic!
