Lisa and Ryan were married at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mokena and celebrated their reception at CD & ME in Frankfort. Their colors were black, white, purple, magenta and citrus green. Flowers included roses, orchids, hydrangea, Gloriosa lilies, and callas.
For the personal flowers, Lisa carried one of my favorite bouquets of all time. It was a colorful mix of purple hydrangea, magenta Gloriosa lilies, fuchsia roses, purple orchids, white cymbidium orchids with a magenta throat, and magenta and eggplant callas. The bridesmaids carried bouquets of magenta roses, green hypericum berries, mini green cymbidium orchids, and purple orchids. The flower girls carried purple mini carnation pomanders with celery green handles. The bouts and corsages were made of roses and orchids.
For the ceremony, I painted the monogram Lisa had designed onto their aisle runner. I also made 2 showy altarpieces which were reused at the reception. They also did the Mary and Parent offerings. Tara and I got to see the end of the ceremony and it was lovely. I literally got to see all three of my couples get married this weekend! It was quite special!
For the reception, we moved the two altarpieces to the bars and designed a smaller version for the entry hall to the restrooms. For the escort card table, we lined the back with 8 square vases of hydrangea, votives and petals. The card holder was my rectangle vase with ribbons and monogram. The cake table got petals scattered on it, along with the sweets table. The head table got vases for the bouquets, petals and votives. The highboy tables got small square vases of orchid heads and floating candles and the guest tables were decorated with one of two centerpiece options: either a submerged trio of purple orchids or a square vase with ti-leaf wrap inside, purple ribbon outside and magenta roses inside.
CD & ME is a really unique venue with beautiful landscaping…which is no surprise when you learn the owners are landscape architects! What a beautiful site for a wedding and lots and lots of photos!
I really enjoyed working with Lisa and her mom to plan her wedding flowers…it was quite fun and everything turned out fabulous!
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Laning!
