A Wondrous Wedding at Two Awesome Historical Venues
Published on May 2nd, 2010
Anne and Neil were married at the lovely St. Dennis Church in Lockport, Illinois. This is the same church where both Anne's parents and Grandparents were married! Anne and Neil's reception was held at the Jacob Henry Mansion's Victorian Banquets in Joliet. Their colors were purple and citrus green with white. Flowers included hydrangea, roses, sweetheart roses and lisianthus. For the Personal Flowers, Anne carried a bouquet of mostly ivory roses, sweetheart roses, and lisianthus with a few touches of green roses. The handle was beautifully wrapped in a remnant of her dress fabric and overlaid with purple organza and colorful pearls. The bridesmaids carried a mix of green roses, ivory sweetheart roses and dark purple lisianthus. Their handles were wrapped in a remnant of their dress fabric with subtle pearl details. The mothers both carried tussy mussy bouquets in silver holders that contained a mix of all of the flowers. The other corsages were a mix of white blooms with organza bows. The flower girl got both a sweetheart rose head wreath and a floral wand to carry. Neil and the rest of the men had rose boutonnieres with lily grass and wire accents. It was a very well-coordinated look overall! For the Ceremony, St. Dennis is such a lovely church we only did pew decor. I hung green hydrangea from purple satin on every-other pew. We later reused the hydrangea for simple centerpieces at the reception. At the Reception, the venue had 20 small 4 inch vases ready for me to add the pew hydrangea to on site. These sat on mirrors surrounded by votive candles that the venue provided. The head table was decorated with petals, additional votives and vases for the bouquets. Petals also accented the cupcake table, which I added little bouquets of flowers to as well. They rented my signature rectangle gift card holder for their cards and also commissioned custom table numbers featuring photos of them at different ages. They were really cute and totally completed the simple yet sophisticated look of the tables. I really loved working with Anne on her wedding and think everything turned out beautifully. Not only was Anne fabulous to work with, but I also enjoyed working with her wedding planner, Alicia Blumer of Alicia Blumer Occasions. Plus, Sue and the rest of the Jacob Henry Mansion staff were very helpful and accommodating as well. I hope to do more weddings there in the future! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Bossard!
