Stephanie and Brandon were married at St. Clement Church and had their reception at Salvatore’s in Chicago afterward. Their colors were apple green, navy and white and flowers included spider mums, hydrangea, button poms, orchids, hypericum berries, and assorted foliage.
For the personal flowers, I designed spectacular all-green bouquets for Stephanie and her bridesmaids. They had hydrangea, mums, berries, and foliage in them. Stephanie’s bouquet also had feathers and a special photo frame of her grandparents attached to the handle. It was big, textural and fabulous. The bridesmaids all carried a smaller version of the bridal bouquet that had a small initial on the handle. The bouts and corsages were made of orchids and button poms with berry accents. The flower girls carried floral wands made with ribbons and a new variety of green carnation that looks like a puff ball.
The reception venue was awesome! We loved working with the Salvatore’s staff to make the space look even better with our flowers and decor. I created 8 centerpieces with green spider mums for the cocktail tables which were surrounded by votive candles. On the gift table, we did my signature rectangle gift card holder with custom monogram. The guest book and memorial table had a submerged centerpiece, Hancock building sculpture, silk hydrangea arrangements made from silks leftover from Steph’s shower and Chicago landmark images.
The escort card table was awesome–it was a piano with cards that Steph and her mom designed with a skyline on them. We designed a 16" cylinder with apples inside and mixed green and white flowers with a manzanita branch, bling and hanging votives in the top.
The Bride and her mom were DIY queens and made a lot of cute items for the wedding including save the dates, invitations, signs, “B” and “G” letters for the sweetheart table, escort cards and other accents. I designed menus, Chicago table numbers and the monogram on the gift card holder to match everything else.
The cake had an adorable bride and groom topper that I surrounded with mini cymbidium orchids and then I put some orchids randomly on the tiers. It had navy bands around each layer as well. It was awesome!
The centerpieces consisted of two styles: 8 were tall cylinders with submerged dendrobium orchids, curly willow and lily grass; the other style was a square vase with a mixed green and white arrangement of hypericum berries, hydrangea, Bells of Ireland, button poms, spider mums and football mums and foliage.
I cannot say enough great things about Steph and Brandon’s venue. It is beautiful and you get the whole place to yourself, the staff are wonderful and it’s in the heart of Lincoln Park.
I loved working with Steph and Brandon and hope that they had the dream wedding they always wanted. I was very happy to be a part of it and that I got to work with other great vendors including Salvatore’s and Brian Kinyon, who is one of my favorite photographers. I cannot wait to see his pro shots of the day!
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Smith!
