Julie and Mark were married at Sacred Heart Church in Lombard and had their reception at Bobak’s Signature Events in Woodridge, Illinois. Their colors were black, ivory, and plum/eggplant shades with silver accents. The flowers included hydrangea, garden roses, stock, orchids, callas and spray roses.
For the Personal Flowers, Julie wanted to carry a more tradition mix of white flowers with some pops of purple. Her bouquet was mainly garden roses, hydrangea, cymbidium orchids and spray roses with accents of Bombay dendrobium orchids for a color pop. The handle was wrapped in ivory satin with pearl detailing. The bridesmaids carried monochromatic purple bouquets with garden roses, hydrangea, and orchids. The bouts were orchids and the corsages had orchids and spray roses mixed.
For the ceremony, we made the programs and affixed the aisle runner to the floor for the ushers to pull out for the bridal party.
For the reception, we did 2 styles of centerpiece plus 1 style that the venue provided (a simple hurricane vase with pillar candle) that we surrounded with petals and votives. Our other 2 styles were a trio of submerged flowers in cylinders with floating candles at top, surrounded by petals and 3 votive candles at the bottom and a short, square vase with a full mixed arrangement inside it surrounded by votives. The highboys in the cocktail area and near the bar also got glass votive holders surrounded by petals, and the head table and cake table also got petals and votives. The cake was adorned with clusters of blooms on the top and randomly on the tiers and the gift table got our signature rectangle card-holder vase. One of the most unique pieces of the night was the manzanita tree on the escort card table. It had LED rice lights wrapped around the branches, hanging votives and orchids on the branches and then a colorful purple mixed arrangement at the base. We also designed the escort cards and table numbers to match the rest of the event–and did a monogram for the card holder that was also used on the programs and for the GOBO that shined on the dancefloor.
I loved working with Julie planning her wedding and the venue was also really easy to work at. I have done one event there before coincidentally in the exact same room and the color palette was almost the same too! It was also nice to see my DJ/Lighting friend Mike from MDM Entertainment working this event as well!
I wish Mr. and Mrs. Thibos a lifetime of happiness! Congrats!
