A Rich Wine-Colored Wedding in Waukegan
Dominic and Katie's Wedding was held at the Genesee Theatre
in Waukegan, Illinois with a reception just down the road at Glen Flora Country Club
. Their colors were deep wine shades of eggplant and burgundy with cream and gold accents. Flowers including dahlias, callas, mums, hydrangea and stock.
For the personal flowers, Katie carried a bouquet of mostly dahlias and callas with stock and rancunulus in it as well. The bridesmaids carried dahlia-mum-stock-mixed bouquets with calla accents and eggplant ribbon handles. The bouts and corsages were made of callas and other blooms and had gold accents. I also painted a THANK YOU Umbrella for them to use in their photos.
For the reception, I created a gold manzanita tree with a floral base and haning bling for Katie's wish cards to be hung from. It looked awesome.
For the Escort Card table, I designed the escort cards to match the table numbers and lined the back of the table with cylinder vases with floating candles, lily grass and dahlias in them. Katie and Dominic also rented our signature rectangle card holder with monogram to hold their cards. The head table was decorated with vases for the bouquets, petals and votives and votives and petals were also put around the cocktail area tables and the cake. The Cake itself was adorned with an S topper and then decked out with dahlias and mums and ranunculus. It smelled yummy and looked fabulous. It was from Lovin Ovens Cakery--which is perhaps my favorite bakery EVER!
The centerpieces for the guest tables consisted of two styles--one was a tall cylinder with a manzanita branch, hanging votives and mix of hydrangea, dahlias, stock and mums. The other style was a trio of cylinders with submerged hydrangea and callas in the medium and tallest heights and a mix of dahlias in the shortest. I also designed the table numbers that accompanied the centerpieces--they were AWESOME U of I table numbers since that is where the couple met...(even though we all went to HS together!)
I LOVED working with Dominic and Katie to plan their wedding. Katie and Dominic actually reconnected with me on Facebook--we all went to High School together--so thanks Facebook!
I also LOVED working with Pam at their venue. The venue was very nice and well-lit and the staff were awesome. We love working with great venues!!!
Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Strezo!
