A Pink, White & Silver Modern-Meets-Vintage Wedding
I am finally catching up on posting our June weddings and this was the first one we did this month. A beautiful wedding for Karen and Victor at Ravenswood Event Center in pink, white and silver that had a vintage-meets-modern flair to it. The modern elements came by mixing materials for the centerpieces, hanging pomanders down the aisle, simple columns at the altar and of course the venue space has a retro/mod thing going on. The hardwood floors and exposed brick walls give a clean canvas for linens, flowers and the whole shebang. We love doing weddings there! The personal flowers consisted of roses, spray roses, ranunculus, peonies and orchids. The bouts and corsages also were made with ranunculus, spray roses, and orchids and all had silver sage accents. Everything was very chic. Karen carried a bouquet entirely made of light pink peonies and it was a total stunner. I love May-June months for getting gorgeous peonies for my brides! They are such a crowd-pleaser! The ceremony decor was among my favorite of all-time. Pink carnation pomanders hung from chairs down the aisle, which had an aisle runner that was decorated with petals leading to 2 stunning altarpieces on columns. The altarpieces were totally unique mixtures of lush, textural flowers and foliage with hanging orchid garlands in silver mercury glass urn vases. They were later moved to the parents' tables and served as centerpieces for the remainder of the night. In the cocktail area we did some square vases filled with cymbidium orchids and topped those with the pomanders from the ceremony. A little LED inside kept these glowing all night. The cake was also in this area and I added a cascade of ombre flowers from light to dark around it to make it pop. The escort card/gift table featured a large manzanita tree with hanging orchid garlands and floral clusters. Definitely one of my favorites that we've done...and we've done a lot of manzanita trees at this point! The remaining guest centerpieces were made up of 3 mismatched pieces in a variety of vases--some birch, some silver candlesticks, some white ceramic, some silver mercury glass and all were surrounded by 3 silver mercury glass votives. Loved them accented with the chalkboard numbers the bride made! Perfection! We LOVED this wedding and know Karen and Victor did too. We wish them a lifetime of happiness! Congrats on almost a month of being married now!
