Lauren and Kyle were married at the Bond Chapel in Hyde Park and had their reception at the Quadrangle Club (one of our favorite venues!) on the lovely University of Chicago Campus. Their colors were citrus with white and flowers included 4 different varieties of orchids, hydrangea, roses, spray roses, zinnias, Bells of Ireland, and stock.
For the personal flowers, Lauren wanted a mostly-white bouquet with citrus color accents. So, I did a base of white and green hydrangea filled in with white roses, spray roses and stock and then accented with mini green cymbidium orchids, yellow oncidium orchids, orange freesia, orange spray roses, and yellow spray roses. It was full of rich textures and had just the right amount of pop! The bridesmaids carried colorful citrus mixed bouquets with green hydrangea, orange mokara orchids, orange and yellow roses and spray roses, and oncidium orchids with handles wrapped in black satin. The toss bouquet combined the citrus palette as well and was super cute! The bouts and corsages consisted of a combo or roses, spray roses and orchids.
The reception decor included our signature rectangle card holder with custom monogram, orange votive holders surrounded by orchid heads and petals on the highboys, and vases for the bouquets which served as some of the centerpieces as well as two other styles. The other two styles of centerpiece included a trio of submerged orchids with floating candles at the top and a large, full, short mixed arrangement of zinnias, stock, Bells of Ireland, hydrangea, roses and spray roses. The tiny cake was accented with orchids and orchid heads were scattered in various places around the reception room as well.
I loved working with Lauren to plan her wedding flowers and decor. It was so fun for us to do a citrus color palette in the midst of summer too! I look forward to doing Lauren’s cousin Adrienne’s wedding later this year as well! She already has been recommending me–I loved that!
In closing, I offer a big, warm, congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Wilcoxen!
