A Chic English Garden-Inspired Wedding at Arrowhead

Stefanie and Mike had their amazing wedding ceremony and reception at Arrowhead Golf Club in Wheaton. Their colors were pale pinks, some medium pink, whites, and light green with silver/pewter accents. The overall feel was more English Garden/vintage and flowers and foliage included garden roses, peonies, spray roses, lisianthus, hydrangea, viburnum, sweet pea, dahlias, silver sage, dusty miller, hanging amaranthus and seeded eucalyptus.

For Stefanie’s bouquet, I did a mix of mostly whites and pale pinks–with peonies, garden roses, spray roses and lisianthus and dahlia accents. It was fluffy and wonderful and she LOVED it. The bridesmaids wore gray dresses so we made their bouquets mostly pink with garden roses, spray roses, dahlias, lisianthus and dusty miller accents. They looked perfect with the dresses. A perfect match! The guys wore patterned ties and pocket squares so they did not do bouts, but I did make the Mother of the Groom and 2 Grandmas corsages with spray roses and silver foliage accents. They were all very pretty!

For the ceremony, we lined the aisle with shepherd’s hooks and hung little bubble vases with drop crystals and mini flower bundles from them. These bundles were also reused inside for the cocktail hour. They looked amazing! We’ve used these twice for outdoor vintage weddings and they are by far my favorite aisle decor we’ve done!

For the reception, the cocktail area, guest book table, gift table and escort card table were decorated with silver vases and candlesticks from the bride’s own collection that we put out and added flowers to. She also had some placemats and table squares that we put out on various tables and under the guest table centerpieces.

Stefanie and Mike chose to have awesome silver chiavari chairs and floor length linens which looked amazing in the space. On top of each gray/silver table square/placemat we placed a trio of centerpieces in mismatched silver containers. Each table had one arrangement on our silver candlesticks, one arrangement in a vase provided by the bride, and one arrangement in a vase provided by us. We also decorated the cake and head tables with petals and added more of the brides candle holders and votives to the head table as well.

The cake was just stunning and looked very Euro-inspired with just some simple clusters of ruffly pink lisianthus and silver sage foliage adorning a few of the layers. We were going for high-end Euro-inspired and I think we achieved it.

I loved doing this wedding. It is one of my favorites to date. Tara’s photos showcase how beautiful it was and we also will see many more awesome photos from their photographers Gina&Tony–who we love to work with. Stefanie did so many great details of her own–included her escort cards, and painted table LETTERS (not numbers!) and all of her menus, signs and other fun paper details. She did an amazing job.

I loved working with Stefanie and her mom and her Maid of Honor Jen to plan the details for the day and those leading up to the event.

Jen is a florist who lives out of state so she was getting flowers through me to make pretty floral things for the shower and rehearsal dinner. I saw one of her RD pieces and it was amazing! I wish she lived here, I would hire her!

Stefanie and her mom were such a pleasure to plan the details with, they were open to my expertise and had a bunch of great ideas to begin with. Together we made it an amazing, totally blog-worthy day!

I wish Stefanie and Mike a long and happy life together as Mr. & Mrs.! Cheers!
