Happy 50th Jamie! | Surprise Birthday Party Flowers

Our dear friend and next-door neighbor Jamie just turned 50 and had no idea a party was in the works for the occasion! Her kids (Christina, David, Pat and new son-in-law Dan) plus her husband Kevin have all been scheming behind her back for weeks, months even, to pull this surprise party off. Christina (who is Jamie’s daughter and one of my past brides) contacted me to do 7 centerpieces that Jamie would like and I also offered to do some fun table numbers with Jamie at different ages to go with them. She also wanted some sort of flower for Jamie to wear, so I suggested a fresh orchid lei since Jamie and Kevin like to travel to warm locations…including Hawaii! I know Jamie loves purple, so I knew that it would have to be one of the colors–and then I was doing some research and was reminded of “Pink Intuition” roses which are these crazy, hot pink/magenta variegated roses that look awesome. I also knew that I wanted to use purple vanda orchids (one of my favorites right now) so I just picked some other blooms that would compliment these flowers and fit within our purple/magenta/fuchsia color palette. I did 3 styles of centerpieces, all of which included mokara, dendrobium and vanda orchids along with other pretty blooms and black ti leaf. Everything I designed was funky, modern and will certainly wow the crowd and Jamie of course!
