A Holy Union in Burnt Orange and Umber

A Holy Union in Burnt Orange and Umber

March 21, 2010

Linda and Cherian were married at Blessed Sacrament Church in North Aurora and then celebrated their reception at Abbington Banquets in Glen Ellyn. Their colors were burnt orange and brown/umber. Flowers included ranunculus, roses, callas, freesia, sweetheart roses, lisianthus, snapdragons, hydrangea and assorted foliage.

Linda wore two dresses on her wedding day–including a traditional ivory “Western” wedding gown and a teal Bridal Sari that she changed into for the reception. So for her bouquet, she carried a slightly cascading bouquet of monochromatic whites and champagnes which included ivory roses, champagne roses, champagne sweethearts, white lisianthus, white mini callas, white freesia, and ivory ranunculus. The handle was wrapped in ivory with a pearl detailed handle. The bridesmaids wore orange Lehengas and carried bouquets of roses, callas, freesia and ranunculus in orange, red and yellow tones. The men wore calla bouts to match their neckties and coordinate with the bouquets.

For the ceremony, Linda wanted bows hung from every-other pew and a monogrammed aisle runner. We also did altarpieces which we later reused at the reception.

For the reception, we moved the altarpieces onto the gift and escort card tables. Linda and Cherian also rented my rectangle card holding vase. We also put the monogram from the aisle runner on the DJ table and also added the bows from the pews to different areas of the reception room. It was really beautiful!

I loved working with Linda planning her wedding flowers!

Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Varghese!
