Ace of cakes is awesome! i miss it. Cake boss is more monochomatic than ace of cakes no question! also why does every episode buddy has a huge hisy fit? Scripted.

Although TLC pulled a Disney by doing Cake Boss, I prefer Cake Boss more. At least Cake Boss isn”t as monochromatic (staff and customers) as Ace of Cake.

Ace of cakes is really funny, and their work is way cleaner. They don’t yell at eachother, and they are laid back. Duff’s one rule is ” Have fun in whatever you are doing.” I reallly think Ace of Cakes is WAY better! Go Duff!

Cake Boss is my favorite! I love the cakes, the humor, the fun, and the fact that it is a family business. I also appreciate no cussing or inappropriate cakes on there. I think they look and carry themselves more professionally. When you run a professional business where you are dealing with food, you have to be very cognizant of appearance and professionalism.

I agree, “Go get Mommy” sounds like something a 5 year old would say–not a 30-some…I also feel like that show is scripted. When their “intern” girl gets a text the second after she starts stirring the chocolate and then steps away to reply, it was the worst acting ever and then there is a big fire–it was so fake. I think the cupcakes on DC cupcakes look good on their own, but am not impressed by the cupcake collages they make…

I think with the fame of the show Ace of Cakes (which is not a bakery–just a “cakery”) has to be closed to the public. If they have a private showroom and minimum order amount, why would they let people just walk in? That would require extra space and employees they do not have. As a wedding vendor I know that most design places require appts as I am sure they do as well. No one wants to waste their time with someone that is just gawking.

I am sure the Cake Boss family doesn’t like when people wait in the line to get in their bakery and then don’t buy anything. And I am also sure that Buddy is not there all the time to greet people, rather the staff and some of the sisters do that. I still think that show is way more campy, scripted, exaggerated and annoying.

I like the fact cake boss is way more people friendly. DC Cupcakes is plain annoying because the girls still at the age 40ish call their mom and dad mommy and daddy. Give me a freekin break. Grow up.

Has on their website don’t bother coming by our shop because you will not be let in. Ya, Buddy’s show is definatly scripted however it’s a landmark in Jersey and they have a customer fri

I live in New Jersey and every time i go to Hoboken ( which is where Carlos bakery is located) i see a line that reaches to the other block. I once walked in and had a tast, they are not good! As i resently noticed they named the street “carlos bakery street.” i also saw the show, the finished work never looks as good as Ace of Cakes. My vote would have to be for Ace of Cakes. They rock and make awsome cakes.
