Magenta, Orange & Black Make a BIG Impact
August 17, 2009
Sheena and Don were married and celebrated their reception at Stan Mansion in Chicago. Their colors were Black and Magenta with pops of orange.
Personal Flowers:
Sheena had some vintage touches of feathers in her hair piece so we added some feathers to her bouquet along with the dark purple lisianthus, eggplant callas, magenta callas, mango orange callas, dark pink cymbidium orchids, magenta and orange freesia and Bom dendrobium orchids. The handle was wrapped in magenta satin with a black organza overlay and pearl details. It rocked! The girls carried mixed bouquets of orange mokara orchids, Bom dendrobium orchids, eggplant and magenta callas, and magenta and orange freesia. They also had fun handles! The guys wore callas and orchids and so did the mothers, father and grandparents. The flowergirl carried a basket of orchids to toss down the aisle.
Ceremony Flowers:
The altarpieces consisted of 2 tall cylinder vases filled with a sculptural Manzanita branch, bear grass, tall callas, eggplant callas, magenta stock, white hydrangea, orange orchids and sorbet snapdragons. They were so fabulous! I displayed them on my Doric-style columns and but some submerged orchid cylinders down the aisle to complete the look.
Reception Flowers:
The entry way had a smaller version of the altarpieces surrounded by a bunch of cylinders with floating candles and submerged orchids inside. The bar and gift tables also got submerged cylinder centerpieces along with the guest tables. The candlelight from the centerpieces and additional votives and candles the bride provided really set the ambiance. It was lovely.
I had the great pleasure of working with 2 vendors that I enjoy at this wedding-Don Kaminsky of XL-Entertainment who was actually my DJ as well and Jeremy Lawson who is a great photographer and my Facebook friend. Lol. He is going to give me some great photos from this event at a later date.
I loved working with Sheena on her wedding and am glad everything turned out so beautifully. I wish Sheena and Don a lifetime of love and happiness!
